Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar said, "The debts of the martyrs must be paid by building a beautiful Bangladesh. Our martyrs dreamed of building a beautiful Bangladesh. In the anti-discrimination student movement, the students have given their lives to make the country free again and thus they have made us indebted.
Earlier, during the fascist regime, people could not sleep peacefully, could not vote and could not go to work properly. The tyrant government led by Sheikh Hasina is accused of murdering thousands of people, along with enforced disappearances and extra judicial murders. Our brave martyrs have freed the nation from this miserable condition.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the exchange meeting with the families of martyrs of the anti-discrimination student movement organized by the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Kurigram district on 9th September, Monday. Kurigram District Jamaat Ameer and Central Majlish-e-Shura Member Maulana Abdul Matin Farooqi presided over the program which was hosted by District Secretary Maulana Nizam Uddin. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, Kurigram District BNP Joint General Secretary Sohel Hossain Kaykobad, Md Saidul Islam, father of Martyr Golam Rabbani, Md Bachchu Mia, father of Martyr Rasedul Islam, Md Abdur Rashid, father of Martyr Abu Raihan, Md Amir Hossain, father of Martyr Noor Alam, Kurigram District Coordinator of Anti-Racism Student Movement Md Minarul Haque, Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir Kurigram District President Abdullah Al Abid (Mukul) and others also spoke on the occasion.

Awami ghosts still are repeatedly trying to thwart the current interim government. There is no atmosphere for elections in the past 15 and a half years of the Awami government. Therefore, every institution should be reformed properly to facilitate an inclusive and credible election.”
Maulana Abdul Halim said, "The anti-discrimination student movement was a successful movement against fascism. We have to continue this movement and its inherent spirit in the days to come.
