Jamaat-e-Islami's delegation holds meeting with the Election Commission

On 13 October (Monday), a five-member delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, led by it’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, held a meeting with the Election Commission of Bangladesh.

The other members of the delegation were Jamaat's Assistant Secretary Generals Dr. Hamidur Rahman Azad and Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, Central Executive Committee Member and Secretary of the party's central media and publicity department Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda and central working committee member Advocate Jasim Uddin Sarkar.

During the meeting, the Jamaat delegation held an open discussion with the Election Commission on various election-related issues, including the voting rights and procedures for expatriates, the referendum process, the appointment of election officials, and the inclusion of the proportional representation (PR) system.

After the meeting, Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher attended a press briefing and answered various questions from journalists.
