A meeting of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s National Election Management Committee was held this evening, Wednesday, 21 January, at the party’s central office in Moghbazar.

The meeting was chaired by the party’s Assistant Secretary General and President of the Jamaat’s Election Management Committee, Maulana ATM Masum, and was conducted by the Committee’s Member Secretary and Assistant Secretary General of the organization Maulana Abdul Halim. Members of the committee were present at the meeting.

The meeting discussed the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the referendum. In addition, detailed discussions were held on the activities of various committees and sub-committees, and necessary guidelines were provided. The electoral tour schedule set to begin on 22 January was discussed in detail and finalized.

Several new members were also included in the National Election Management Committee. They are: former Secretary Dr. Khandaker K. M. Kabirul Islam, Dr. Khalilur Rahman Madani, Oli Ullah Noman, Shahidul Islam, Dr. Anwarul Azim, Mrs. Nurunnisa Siddika, Mrs. Sayeda Rumman, Dr. Habiba Chowdhury Sweet, and Ayesha Siddika Parveen.
