Danish Ambassador to Dhaka, His Excellency Christian Brix Møller paid a courtesy visit to Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. The meeting and breakfast took place at the office of the Jamaat Ameer in Bashundhara, Dhaka, at 9:00 a.m. The Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy, Mr. Anders B. Carlsen, was also present at that time.

The meeting was held in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere. At the beginning of the discussion, the Ambassador inquired about Jamaat Ameer’s health condition and wished him a speedy and full recovery.

The upcoming national elections of Bangladesh were highlighted as extremely important during the meeting. Denmark’s overall cooperation and technical assistance were sought to ensure that the elections are conducted freely, fairly, and acceptably.

Additionally, constructive discussions were held on ensuring sustainable democracy in Bangladesh and safeguarding the independence of democratic institutions. Both sides expressed optimism that bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Denmark will further strengthen in the future.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, and Jamaat Ameer’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan were also present on the occasion.
