-Professor Mujibur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has said, the people are united to press the demand of cancelling the farcical election of 7th January and also for declaring date for a fresh election. The recently held election cannot be treated as election by any means. It was an abnormal election. The countrymen rejected the election by not going the polling centers. 7th January’s election did not get acceptance both in home and abroad. The government is trying to mark this election as fair and credible and this is why, they have made a hurry to form the government.

He said this while addressing the conference of the Associate members organized by Kurigram district Jamaat-e-Islami on Monday. District Ameer Maulana Abdul Matin Faruqee presided over the program which was hosted by district secretary Maulana Nizam Uddin.

Professor Mujibur Rahman said, the people are living in severe panic now. Price of all essentials are out of common’s reach. Due to the oppressor regime, the RMG industry is losing the market. The government is also plotting conspiracy to destroy the educational system of the country.

He said the associate members are the key force to create public opinion and also for building honest, skilled and qualified leadership. The associate members should become qualified workers of Jamaat-e-Islami by reading the holy Quran and Hadith and simultaneously by spending money and time for Islam and the wellbeing of the people. Acting Ameer urged the associate members to continue movement till the establishment of a pro-people government.

Addressing the program as the special guest, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim said, Jamaat is not an ordinary political party. This party is inclined to build an Islamic society as per the ideology of the Prophet (pbuH) and his companions. We have to go ahead despite all barriers. The martyrdoms, sacrifices and imprisonment of hundreds of thousands of Jamaat leaders and activists in last 15 years have strengthened this movement.

Among others, Jamaat’s working committee member professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal, district Jamaat’s assistant secretary Maulana Abdul Hamid Mia and Shahjalal Shabuj were present on the occasion.
