Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s central executive committee member and Dhaka south city Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul has said, Jamaat leaders and activists have taken to the street of the capital to secure the rights of availing food and votes. We will return home after ensuring the resignation of the incumbent tyrannical government.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka city organized this huge demonstration and procession in Motijheel area of the capital this morning demanding immediate release of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, other leaders and religious scholars, withdrawal of false cases and restoring the caretaker government system. The procession began under the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami’s central executive committee member and Dhaka south city Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul. It crossed various roads and finally a brief rally was held in Daily Ittefaq intersection of the city.
Jamaat’s central working committee member and Dhaka south city secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud hosted the rally. Addressing the program, Nurul Islam Bulbul said, in the name of controlling the Jamaat and Chhatrashibir activists, if someone wants to impose restrictions, tortures and oppressions against our systematic programs, we will not tolerate anymore. We are on the street in line with the demand of preserving and protecting country’s independence and sovereignty. An election must be held under a caretaker government. Sheikh Hasina has to resign immediately. The parliament must be dissolved right now.
He alleged that; conspiracy is going on to declare election schedule. We will foil such conspiracy with the support of the countrymen. He claimed that Jamaat is a democratic and constitutional party. He demanded immediate release of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan and Dhaka north city Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin, party’s Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam and Muhaddith Abdul Khaleq who are imprisoned now in connection with some false and harassing cases.
Among others, Jamaat’s central working committee member and Dhaka north city secretary Dr. Rezaul Karim, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka south city’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Advocate Helal Uddin, Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka north city’s Assistant Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman, Nazimuddin Molla, Dr. Fakhruddin Manik, Dhaka south city Jamaat’s assistant secretary Delwar Hossain and Dr. Abdul Mannan were present on the occasion. Dhaka north city Jamaat’s working committee member Jamal Uddin, Muhibbullah, Ataur Rahman Sarkar, Nasir Uddin, and Dhaka south city’s working committee member Mokarram Hossain, Shamsur Rahman, labor leader Abdus Salam, former Chhatrashibir president Mobarak Hossain and Hafez Rashedul Islam, labor leader Hafizur Rahman, student leader Salah Uddin, Asaduzzaman, Takrim Hasan and Towhidul Islam were also present over there.
Nurul Islam Bulbul declared more programs in the upcoming days and urged the leaders and activists to take part in those programs sincerely and wholeheartedly.
Addressing the staff of the administration, Nurul Islam Bulbul said, you and we, all belong to this country. So, do not create any situation which may deteriorate the existing condition of the country. Do not take stand against the people. Police administration and the law enforcers are our friends, not our foe. We do not consider them as our enemy. But as a legitimate political party, we want the natural privilege to observe our peaceful and democratic programs.
While coming and returning from the processions and rallies, the law enforcers try to harass and arrest the demonstrators and the general pedestrians.
