The nation wants to get rid of the tyrannical government, says Dr. Shafiqur Rahman
The nation wants to get free from the clutches of autocratic and tyrannical government. But to do so, all the patriotic forces and the people of different views and opinions should be united.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said this while addressing a leadership conference today. Chuadanga district Jamaat-e-Islami arranged the program.
District Ameer Anwarul Haque Malik presided over the program. Among others, central executive committee member and Zonal coordinator Mobarak Hossain and central organizing secretary Maulana Azizur Rahman addressed the program.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said the leaders and activists of the Islamic movement should place their all expectations and prayers to the Lordship of Almighty Allah. Islamic history reveals that the instruction of Jihad came following the establishment of the Islamic state. No person or group can declare Jihad by their own. We have to learn from these precedences.
We have to practice self-assessment and self-criticism. Often we become so obsessed with the fault of others that we ignore our own issues. We become frustrated easily. As such, we have to uphold and maintain the history of sacrifice and dedication, set by the Prophet (pbuH) and His family and companions. The Prophet (pbuH) received enormous bounties and blessings on the battlefield of Badar as he surrendered fully before Allah. We should not be hesitant witnessing torture and repression. We should have patience and trust in Allah and face all barriers unitedly even at the cost of our lives.
We have to be with the people in seasons and out of seasons. We may not fulfill their requirements. But at least we should try to share their happiness and sorrows. We should make sincere efforts to comply with the directives and instructions of the central organization.
Regarding the election, Jamaat Ameer said, Jamaat wants to see a free, fair, and credible election. But the government should make that congenial environment for such an election. If such an environment is ensured, we will participate in polls. We have all the electoral preparations. About the electoral alliance, Jamaat Ameer said, the organization will take a decision in this regard considering the upcoming situation.
