Today, 8 December (Monday) at 6:30 p.m., a meeting of the Liaison Committee of the 8 agitating Parties was held at the central office of Khelafat Majlish, presided over by the Secretary General of Khelafat Majlish, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Kader.

Among others, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General and Coordinator of the 8-Party Liaison Committee and former MP Dr. Hamidur Rahman Azad; Secretary General of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Gazi Ataur Rahman; Secretary General of Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party Maulana Musa bin Izhar and Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdul Majed Athari; Secretary General of Bangladesh Khelafat Andolan Maulana Yusuf Sadiq Hakkani; the Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Khelafat Andolan Mujibur Rahman Hamidi; the Vice-President and Party Spokesperson of the Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) Engineer Rashed Prodhan; the President of Bangladesh Development Party Advocate A.K.M. Anwarul Islam Chan and its Secretary General Nizamul Haque Nayeem; Joint Secretaries of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Mr. Ashraful Alam and Fazle Bari Masud were present in the meeting.

The following decisions were adopted in the meeting:
1. To build public support for a “Yes” vote in the upcoming referendum based on the implementation of the July National Charter, nationwide campaigns will be conducted until 31 December.
2. After the announcement of the national election schedule, the top leaders will meet to determine the next course of action based on the schedule.
3. On the occasion of Victory Day, each of the 8 agitating parties will observe separate programs.
4. To strengthen the activities of the 8-party alliance, district- and upazila-level liaison committees will be formed.
5. Discussions on seat adjustment among the 8 agitating parties for contesting the 13th National Parliamentary Election will begin tomorrow, 9 December.
