Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Thakurgaon district’s former Ameer, noted religious scholar Maulana Abdul Mazid Rahimahullah died at Thakurgaon Sadar hospital on 18th July at 3:45 pm at the age of 94. Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi rajiun. He was undergoing treatment over there. The first Namaj-e-Janaja of the deceased was held at 8 pm at night in Salondor Islamia Kamil Madrasa Eidgah ground and the second Janaja was held at 9 in the morning of the following day, 19th July at Dakhin Moheshpur Dakhil Madrasa ground in Rasulpur union under Kaharol Upazila of the Dinajpur district. Following his second Namaj-e-Janaja, he was buried at his family graveyard.
Prior to the Namaj-e-Janaja, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General and Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s coordinator Maulana Abdul Halim prayed for the salvation of the departed soul of late Abdul Mazid. He said Maulana Abdul Mazid was a dedicated soul to the Islamic movement and a noble preacher of Islam. He was a unique example of dedication, sacrifice, and loyalty. Following the burial, Jamaat leaders went to the house of Maulana Abdul Mazid and consoled his mournful family members.
Among others, Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s team member and Dinajpur district’s Chirir Bandar Upazila’s former Upazila chairman Aftab Uddin Molla, Dinajpur south organizational district Ameer Md. Anwarul Isla,, Dinajpur North organizational district’s Ameer Md. Anisur Rahman, Nilphamari district Ameer Md. Abdur Rashid, Thakurgaon district Ameer Maulana Abdul Hakik, Islami Chhatrashibir’s central media affairs secretary Nazrul Islam, Thakurgaon district’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Belal Uddin Prodhan and Kaharol Upazila’s former Upazila chairman Mamunur Rashid Chowdhury attended the funeral prayer.
Late Maulana Abdul Mazid’s elder son Maulana Abdullah Al Kafi led the funeral prayer. Along with the Jamaat leaders and activists, huge people of various professions and sections attended the funeral prayer.
