Assistant Secretary to the women wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Begum Nurunnesa Siddiqa has issued the following statement on 7th March, 2017 urging to observe International Women’s Day on 8th March.
“The real benefit and welfare of the women community will be ensured if Islamic ideology is followed in all aspects of human life.
8th March is International Women’s Day. The day is being observed worldwide with due solemnity and significance. At present, the women are being deprived from their due rights as Islam is not established in the society and families. The women will get back their rights if Islamic ideals are followed in the national, social and family levels. The women are the symbolization of motherhood. Mothers will be respected if the women as a whole are respected. So it is our duty and obligation to respect women and to establish them in a sacred position.
I am calling upon all the units and wings of Jamaat-e-Islami to observe 8th March as International Women’s Day by making a vow to follow the Islamic ideology at all aspects of life.”
