Jamaat and Chhatrashibir have no connection with Hizbut-Tahrir and Hizbut-Tawhid

Hamidur Rahman Azad lambasts several media for publishing false news against Jamaat-e-Islami

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 14th March, 2017 protesting and gainsaying the false and fabricated reports published in Daily Ittefaq on 13th March and similar other reports published in Daily ‘Kaler Kantha’, Bangladesh Pratidin, Azadi of Chittagong, Purbokon and online news portal bdnews24.com on 12th March implicating Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir.

“Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir have no connection with Hizbut-Tahrir and Hizbut-Tawhid. We are not acknowledged about the activities of those organizations which those false reports have referred. Jamaat and Chhatrashibir have no nexus with the 17 persons who have been arrested from different places of Chittagong.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir sincerely believe in the systematic and democratic trend of politics. So no question is emanated at all of having any relation between Jamaat-e-Islami, Chhatrashibir and Hizbut-Tahrir and Hizbut-Tawhid. The reports based on having alleged relationship with those controversial organizations are being published just to smudge the good image of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir. It becomes a bad habit of some newspapers to carry continuous propaganda against Jamaat and Chhatrashibir. Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir is continuing its organizational activities under its own party banner. So it is absolutely a bogus accusation against Jamaat-e-Islami of working under any other entity’s banner.

I am calling upon the authorities of the concerned newspapers and media houses to be refrained from publishing false and concocted reports against Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir.”
