Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 14th October, 2025 expressing deep shock and sorrow over the tragic death of 16 people and the injury of many others in a devastating fire that broke out at Shialbari in Mirpur, Dhaka.

“On Tuesday afternoon, 14 October, a devastating fire broke out at a garment factory and a chemical warehouse in Shialbari, Mirpur, claiming the lives of 16 people and injuring several others (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un). I am deeply shocked by this heartbreaking tragedy. The unexpected death of hardworking laborers in this fire is an irreparable loss for the nation. The pain of the bereaved families is beyond expression in words.

I sincerely pray to Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant Jannatul Ferdous to the deceased, speedy recovery to the injured, and patience and strength to the grieving families to endure this difficult time.

I urge the concerned authorities to properly investigate the actual cause of the fire, take appropriate action against those responsible, provide adequate compensation to the victims’ families, and ensure full medical treatment for the injured.”
