11 leaders and workers of a labor platform arrested; Mia Ghulam Parwar protests

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 27th December, 2016 protesting the unjustifiable arrest of 11 leaders and workers of Bangladesh Sramik Kollan Federation (Bangladesh Labor Welfare Federation) including its central organizing secretary Professor Harun-or-Rashid Khan, Assistant Organizing Secretary Loshkor Mohammad Taslim, central committee member Azharul Islam, Advocate Zakir Hossain and Abdul Hashem from city’s Mogbazar area.

“The government has arrested the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Sramik Kollan Federation just to attain its ill political interest. All the detainees are completely innocent.

The incumbent authoritarian government is repressing the working class people including the labors and farmers just to remain in power. The government has already become detached from the people for its tyrannical rule. The torture and suppression of the government has exceeded all the level of tolerance. I am calling upon the countrymen to raise voice against the misrule of the government.

I am urging the concerned authorities to release all the leaders and workers of Bangladesh Sramik Kollan Federation including its organizing secretary Professor Harun-or-Rashid Khan and Assistant Organizing Secretary Loshkor Mohammad Taslim immediately.”
