Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer greets the countrymen on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha

-Professor Mujibur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 15th June, 2024 extending greetings to the fellow countrymen on the eve of holy Eid-ul-Adha.

The occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, enriched with the memories and lessons of Hazrat Ibrahim (A), his wife Hazera (A)and their beloved son Hazrat Ismail (A). Eid-ul-Adha inspires us to offer more sacrifice and dedication. It instills the spirit of sacrificing everything for attaining the satisfaction of Almighty Allah. This occasion also motivates us to establish a just society free from social discrimination and exploitation. We have to follow and comply with Islam wholeheartedly at all stages of life with the same spirit.

We are going to observe holy Eid-ul-Adha at such a time, when various crises including political crisis, financial crisis, social and ethical crisis are severely prevailing in the country. Law and order situation has been deteriorated alarmingly. Public lives are totally collapsed due to excessive bribery, corruption, murder, abduction, terrorism, rape and extortion.

Prices of essentials have gone out of common’s reach. When people are struggling to manage their daily food, how will they celebrate the joy of Eid-ul-Adha? The low-income people are passing deplorable lives but the government is not concerned about their sorrows. As they are not an elected government, so they are not feeling any commitment toward the people.

The government has grabbed the office once again by holding a dummy election on last 7th January. They have destroyed all democratic institutions of the country. There is no freedom of speech, human rights and good governance. The government has pushed the nation toward anarchy and violence just to stay in power forcefully. May Allah recover the nation from this situation through peaceful solution.

Ahead of the Eid-ul-Adha, we are recalling the inspiring memories of Hazrat Ibrahim (A), his wife Hazera (A)and their beloved son Hazrat Ismail (A). Likely their sacrifices, if we can sacrifice our dearest lives, wealth and other staff for the sake of Allah in order to establish the rule of Allah on this earth, only then our sacrifice and efforts will be successful.

I personally and on behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami extend the greetings of Eid-ul-Adha to my fellow countrymen. I am also praying the peace, happiness, prosperity, and security, and safeties for my fellow countrymen.”
