Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 7th July, 2022 extending greetings to the fellow countrymen on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Adha.
The occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, enriched with the memories and lessons of Hazrat Ibrahim (A) is to be celebrated shortly. Eid-ul-Adha inspires us to offer more sacrifice and dedication. It instills the spirit of sacrificing everything for attaining the satisfaction of Almighty Allah. This occasion also motivates us to establish a just society free from social discrimination and exploitation. We have to follow and comply with Islam wholeheartedly at all stages of life with the same spirit. Only then, we will be able to gain the satisfaction of Almighty Allah.
We are going to observe holy Eid-ul-Adha at such a time, when severe floods have devasted houses, crops, domestic animals, and fisheries and ruined the lives of the victims in many districts of the country including Sylhet, Sunamganj, Kishorganj, Netrokona, Jamalpur, Kurigram, Rangpur, and Lalmonirhat. The flood-affected people have no place to reside, and no food to eat. The victims are leading terrible life. Though the situation has improved a bit in the last couple of days but lives are still remaining very difficult over there. Under the circumstances, I am extending the greetings of holy Eid-ul-Adha to my fellow countrymen with a saddened mind.
Let us extend our hand of cooperation on this occasion upholding the spirit and teachings of Prophet Ibrahim (A). Let us ensure mutual assistance for the betterment of the flood victims and our future generation. Let us be a part of their sorrows and joys. It should be our vow this time to bring smiles to the face of flood victims.
We pray to Almighty Allah for those victims who have been killed in this devastating flood. May Allah accept them as martyrs. I am extending sympathy to the victims’ families. I am sincerely praying to Allah seeking shelter from all types of natural disasters and catastrophes. May Allah remove our sufferings and crisis. May Allah help us to overcome the losses, caused by this flood.
I personally and on behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami extend the greetings of Eid-ul-Adha to my fellow countrymen. I am also praying the peace, happiness, prosperity, and security, and safties for my fellow countrymen.
