Rafiqul Islam Khan denies false news; Jamaat men had no connection with the incident of Allama Shafi’s death

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan has issued the following statement on 15 November 2020 protesting the hate campaign of several dailies against Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir regarding the death of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi.

On 14 November at Chittagong press club, Mr. Mainuddin, the brother in law of late Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi launched a malicious campaign against Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir saying that Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi has become the victim of the pre-planned murder designed by the ghost of these two organizations. His wrongful statement has been published in several dailies today. We want to say it clearly that Mr. Mainuddin has made the statement in order to tarnish the image of Jamaat-e-Islami. We are vehemently condemning his false address.

He accused the Jamaat-Shibir activists of taking oxygen mask away from Allama Shafi, which is nothing but a sheer lie. Because no Jamaat or Chhatrashibir men was present over there. Even a senseless and lunatic person cannot accept such information.

We are calling upon the concerned quarters to stop hate campaign and propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir and urging the authorities of the concerned dailies to be refrained from publishing such false news.
