Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and party’s central executive committee member Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 7 October 2020 protesting and gainsaying an indecent letter, which has been published and circulated fabricating the official pad of Jamaat-e-Islami.

A letter has been circulated in the social media and online news portals fabricating the official pad of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. The content of the letter demonstrates that, it has been prepared and concocted under the direct backing of the government. At present, the entire nation is protesting the ongoing trends of rapes and tortures against women, which have been committed by the cadres and goons of the ruling party wing organizations. This drama of letter has been staged to conceal the failures and loopholes of the government in the wake of nationwide protest. People can easily identify that the letter has been fabricated and manipulated. In the letter, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has been introduced as the Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. These inconsistencies substantiate the severe forgeries of the letter.

I am urging the concerned authorities to stop such propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami.
