At least 35 people killed in Turkey earthquake; Jamaat Ameer condoles

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 26 January 2020 expressing deep shock as at least 35 people have been killed with more than 1600 sustaining injuries in in Elazig province and four in the neighboring province of Malatya.

“I am personally and on behalf of my organization Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami expressing deep shock and condolence as at least 35 people have been killed with more than 1600 sustaining injuries in in Elazig province and four in the neighboring province of Malatya. Our brotherly nation of Turkey is facing severe casualties due to such earthquake and presumably it would be tough to recover. I am praying to Almighty Allah so that the government and the people of Turkey can attain proper and quick recovery from this earthquake crisis.

I am praying for the salvation of the departed soul who have been killed in this earthquake. I am extending my sympathy and empathy to the victim families. I am also praying to Allah for the quick recovery of the wounded victims.
