Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Maqbul Ahmad has issued the following statement on 21 November 2019 recalling the contribution of Jamaat’s former Secretary General and former Social Welfare Minister Shaheed Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid.

“I am sincerely and wholeheartedly recalling the contribution of Jamaat’s former Secretary General and former Social Welfare Minister Shaheed Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid.

The incumbent authoritarian government has executed him in the very first hour of 22 November, 2015 in connection with some false, concocted, manipulated and fabricated charges just to attain their ill-political interest. The general masses and the world community did not recognize the farcical procedures of the government in this regard.

Shaheed Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid played a pivotal role in all the democratic movements of the country. The countrymen will remember him always for his tremendous uncompromising role during the anti-autocracy movement and also in the movement for establishing caretaker government system. He also performed a historic role while discharging the duty as the Social Welfare Minister of the 4-party alliance government. He dedicated himself for the betterment and welfare of the people.

While serving the nation as minister, he set an outstanding example of honesty, transparency and working capability. Till now, nobody can find out a single sign of corruption against him. His plain and simple life attracted the people of all sections.

Government executed him in line with some fabricated charges as they failed to deal him politically. The martyrdom of Shaheed Mujahid and other top Jamaat leaders will pave the way for establishing Islamic rule in this country. Shaheed Mujahid and other Jamaat leaders sacrificed their lives for the Islamic ideology. I am urging the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and my fellow countrymen to take the revenge of these unjustifiable executions by establishing Islamic ideology in this land.

I am praying to Almighty Allah to accept the martyrdom of Shaheed Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid. May Allah bless this Shaheed by accepting him as an inhabitant of Jannah.”
