Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan has issued the following statement on 14 October 2019 protesting and condemning the mysterious comments of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Additional Commissioner Md. Monirul Islam while describing the brutal murder incident of BUET’s meritorious student Abrar Fahad.

“While meeting the press, Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Additional Commissioner Md. Monirul Islam referred the statements of 4 arrested students and claimed that those students had murdered Abrar suspecting him as Shibir activist. At one stage, he took his last breath. Whether he was beaten for murder intentionally or it was simply an assault, it is being investigated. I am condemning DMP official’s mysterious statement.

DMP’s Additional Commissioner Md. Monirul Islam has made a mysterious statement referring the comments of the arrested students. He should clarify his stance about Abrar Fahad murder incident. We are urging him to reveal his intention before the nation.
