A press conference of the 11-Party Electoral Alliance was held on Thursday, 15 January night, at the Diploma Engineers Institute in Kakrail, Dhaka. Representatives of all parties of the 11-Party Electoral Alliance were present at the conference, except Islami Andolon Bangladesh.
A large number of journalists, well-wishers, and leaders and activists of the 11-Party Electoral Alliance were seen participating enthusiastically in the press conference.
The press conference was conducted by the Coordinator of the 11-Party Electoral Alliance, and Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament Dr. Hamidur Rahman Azad. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman; Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher; President of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Dr. Colonel (Retd.) Oli Ahmad Bir Bikram; Convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP) Nahid Islam; Ameer of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Maulana Mamunul Haque; Secretary General of Khelafat Majlis Dr. Ahmed Abdul Qader; Chairman of Amar Bangladesh Party Mojibur Rahman Manju; President of Bangladesh Development Party Advocate Anwarul Islam Chan; Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party Maulana Abdul Majed Athari; Secretary General of Bangladesh Khelafat Andolon Maulana Yusuf Sadiq Haqqani; and Vice President and Spokesperson of the National Democratic Party Engineer Rashed Pradhan attended the press meet.
At the event, Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher announced the seat-sharing arrangement of the 11-Party Electoral Alliance. According to the announced decision, the allied parties will field a single joint candidate in the designated constituencies. Under this arrangement, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will contest 179 seats; the National Citizen Party (NCP) 30 seats; Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis 20 seats; Khelafat Majlis 10 seats; the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) 7 seats; Nezam-e-Islam Party 2 seats; AB Party 3 seats; and the Bangladesh Development Party 2 seats.
Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair; Central Executive Council members of Jamaat-e-Islami Mobarak Hossain and Abdur Rab; former Adviser of the Interim Government and Spokesperson of the National Citizen Party Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan and Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary; Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer of Khelafat Majlis Maulana Sakhawat Hossain; Secretary General of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmed; Joint Secretaries General of Khelafat Majlis Maulana Montasir Ali and Maulana Abdul Jalil; Acting Secretary General of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Mr. Billal Hossain Miaji, among others were present on the occasion.
