Meeting of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami held

Today, 26 November, the meeting of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held with its Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman in the chair. The meeting, held at the central office on Wednesday at 4:30 PM, was attended by the Nayeb-e-Ameers, the Secretary General, the Assistant Secretary Generals, and the members of the Central Executive Council.

In the meeting, prayers were offered before the Almighty Allah seeking speedy recovery and complete healing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, who has been hospitalized due to illness, and for BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. At the same time, an appeal was made to the leaders and workers of the organization as well as to the people of the country to pray for their early recovery.

The meeting held detailed discussions on the necessity of conducting the upcoming national parliamentary elections in a free, fair, acceptable, and fear-free environment, as well as on the overall current political situation of the country.

In addition, a decision was taken to conduct a campaign to generate widespread public opinion in favor of a ‘Yes’ vote for the implementation of the July National Charter (Constitutional Order).

A special appeal was also made to the people of the country to make successful the assemblies to be held in seven divisional cities as part of the previously announced programs of the eight-party alliance, which is continuing its movement for the implementation of the five-point demands including a referendum before the national elections.

Furthermore, detailed discussions were held regarding the preparatory activities for the annual session of the Central Majlis-e-Shura of the organization to be held on the upcoming 28 and 29 November.

In conclusion, prayers and cooperation were sought from the people at all levels for the welfare of the country and the nation, for the establishment of justice and truth, and for turning the Bangladesh of tomorrow into a peaceful, justice-based, and prosperous state.
