Alliance of 8 agitating parties declares new programs

On Wednesday, 12 November, at 11:00 a.m., a joint meeting was held at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on behalf of the alliance of 8 agitating parties to press for the issuance of the July National Charter Implementation Order and the realization of the five-point mass demand, including holding a referendum before the national election. Following the meeting, a press briefing was held at 1:30 p.m. at the Al-Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar.

At the beginning of the briefing, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Secretary General and former Member of Parliament, Mia Golam Porwar extended thanks and gratitude to the leaders of the 8 agitating parties and the journalists, who were present at that time.

On behalf of the alliance of 8 agitating parties, Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Mujibur Rahman, announced the following programs:

13 November (Thursday):

To resist sabotage and destructive activities by fascist forces, leaders of the 8 parties along with people from all walks of life will take positions on streets across the country. At the same time, we call upon all patriotic, anti-fascist forces to join us on the streets.

14 November (Friday)

Nationwide protest marches will be organized at district and city levels demanding the issuance of the July National Charter Implementation Order and holding of a referendum before the national election as part of the 5-point demand.

16 November (Sunday)

A meeting of top leaders of the 8 agitating parties will be held at 11:00 a.m. Following the meeting, a press conference will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Al-Falah Auditorium.

If the people's demands are not accepted before that, from the aforesaid press conference, a program of indefinite sit-in will be announced in front of the Chief Advisor’s Office Jamuna.

An earnest appeal has been made to the people of the country, law enforcement agencies, transport owners, and traffic police to extend their full cooperation in making the declared programs successful.

After announcing the programs, Professor Mujibur Rahman and Mia Golam Porwar responded to various questions from journalists.

The alliance of agitating parties also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Dhaka city and all across the country, including law enforcement agencies, transport owners, and traffic police, for their sincere cooperation in making the grand rally of 11 November a success.
