Jamaat does not merely make promises; it is committed to maintaining consistency between words and actions

-Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer and Jamaat-nominated candidate for Dhaka-15 constituency, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, expressed firm conviction that Jamaat will not compromise with anyone in establishing a just society and freeing the country from corruption and misrule; rather, it is committed to gifting the country and the nation a new Bangladesh.

He said these things yesterday, 7 November, at 8 PM while addressing as Chief Guest at a gathering organized by the supporters’ group of Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at Mirpur Pirerbagh Jhilpar in Dhaka-15 constituency. Presided over by Jamaat-e-Islami's Central Working Committee Member and Nayeb-e-Ameer of Dhaka City North Abdur Rahman Musa, and hosted by Saiful Islam, the event was attended by Dhaka City North Working Committee Member and Dhaka-15 Constituency organizing committee's Secretary Shah Alam Tuhin, Dhaka City North Working Committee Member Md. Shahidullah, Assistant coordinator of Kafrul Zone Jasim Uddin, and Mirpur East Thana Secretary Wahidul Islam Sadi.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, Jamaat does not believe in mere politics of promises, rather it is committed to keeping words and actions consistent. Before elections, some individuals or parties show dreams of turning Bangladesh into America or Canada. But after the elections, they no longer keep those promises. Thus, over the past 54 years, the people of the country have been deceived many times. This time, say “no” to these deceivers.

By looking at the record of the past and present, one must understand what their record will be in the future. Therefore, the voters should not be confused by a mere words; rather, they must recognize realities. He called on everyone to unite on the field to transform the country into a welfare state.

He said, Bangladesh is an independent and sovereign country. Therefore, it will not operate based on anyone’s instructions. We will not accept anyone as grandfather or big brother. We will stand on our own feet and move forward with dignity. Our foreign policy will be based on friendship and equality with all, not hostility toward anyone. We will not bow to anyone. In foreign policy, we will not care about anyone’s intimidation. If the people entrust us with the responsibility of running the country, we will shape the new generation and youth in such a way that they will not have to depend on the government. We want to build a determined youth who, being self-reliant, will voluntarily assist the government. He urged everyone to ensure the victory of Jamaat candidates nationwide in the upcoming elections to establish a peaceful, dynamic, and developed society.

The Jamaat Ameer said, for so long we have engaged in quarrels over the past. As a result, we have fallen behind in global competition. When other nations of the world have moved forward, we are still lagging. But now the time for change has come. So, to change the fate of the country and the nation, we must adopt positive plans and move forward to implement them. He said with firm determination that if Allah grants us the opportunity to form the government, we will establish a humane Bangladesh by introducing moral and advanced worldly education, ensuring justice for all, and building relationships of respect and harmony with civilized and developed countries.

Earlier, the Jamaat Ameer performed Jumu’ah at Pirerbagh Chapra Mosque, Asr at Baitul Arafah Mosque, and Maghrib at Borobagh Gausia Mosque. After the prayers, he delivered a brief statements addressing the worshippers and exchanged greetings. After Maghrib, he addressed a dignitaries’ gathering organized by Jamaat in West Manipur.

In his speech, he said, the welfare of human beings can never be achieved through man-made laws. Therefore, for securing peace in this world and salvation in the Hereafter, we must return to the ideals of the Qur’an and Sunnah. He called upon the youth of the country to remain uncompromising on the field in the upcoming election to ensure the victory of the “Daripalla” (scale) symbol in building an ideal and value-based society on the foundation of justice.
