If the people elect us, we will gift the nation a corruption-free, discrimination-free, and humane Bangladesh, says Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “The upcoming national parliamentary election is extremely important for the nation. The destiny of the nation will be decided through this election. Everyone must play a vital role to ensure that the people can cast their votes freely, fairly, and impartially.”

He made these remarks as the chief guest while addressing a gathering of grassroots-level leaders held at 6:00 p.m. on November 5 at the Mayurkunj Convention Hall in Sylhet-1 constituency.

Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Publicity and Media Department, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, spoke as the special guest.

Other speakers included Jamaat’s Central Working Committee member and Ameer of Sylhet City Jamaat Fakhrul Islam, Central Majlis-e-Shura member Maulana Habibur Rahman, along with other leaders from Sylhet city and district Jamaat.

Jamaat Ameer further said, “If the people vote for us and elect us to serve, we will gift the nation a humane Bangladesh free from corruption and discrimination. There will be no divisions among people. Rising above bribery, corruption, and nepotism, we will serve the people sincerely. We must remain vigilant so that fascist rule never returns to the country. The people must use their votes wisely by electing honest, competent, and Allah-fearing individuals. The vote is a sacred trust, and this trust must be exercised properly.”

He added, “Only by electing capable and deserving individuals can the nation’s destiny be changed. We must all carry out our responsibilities with integrity. The future of the nation depends on the correctness of our decisions.”

He called upon everyone to rise above party affiliations and come forward to play their due role in this regard.
