Polling Center representatives’ gathering in Dumuria held

The July Charter must be given a legal basis through a referendum in November

-Mia Golam Porwar

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former Member of Parliament Mia Golam Porwar said, “Bangladesh is moving toward a positive transition. We have signed the July Charter. To ensure a transparent, neutral, and acceptable election, and to prevent any newly elected government from becoming authoritarian, despotic, or fascist, six key organs of the stateincluding the public administration, field administration, judiciary, electoral system, and Anti-Corruption Commissionhave been reorganized.”

He added, “The government formed six commissions and proposed many reforms. Through dialogue among all political parties, consensus was reached on 84 issues, which are now recognized as the July Charter. There remain about 20 issues on which political parties still disagree. We have requested the Consensus Commission to explore ways to simplify and include some of these remaining issues. The government should now, within a short time, give the July Charter legal status through a referendum to ensure a transparent and acceptable upcoming electionbased on which the next elected government will build a new Bangladesh.”

“As representatives of the government and the Consensus Commission, we have urged the Chief Advisor to hold the referendum in November to give the July Charter a legal foundation,” he further said.

He made these remarks on Tuesday (October 21) morning while addressing as the chief guest at a polling center representatives’ gathering for Dhamalia, Raghunathpur, and Rudaghra unions held at the Shahpur Regional Office under the Khulna-5 constituency.

Later in the afternoon, he conducted another public contact program at Thukhra Amvita Bazaar and held an exchange meeting with the Hindu community there in the evening as the Jamaat candidate for Khulna-5 constituency.

The Secretary General further said, “We must counter all conspiracies of the forces of falsehood (taghut) with intellectual strength and moral principles. These days, various false and fabricated allegations are being spread against Jamaat and Shibir on social media. We must acquire proper knowledge of information technology and respond with accurate, fact-based answers to these propaganda campaigns.”

He noted that Islami Chhatrashibir has demonstrated its talent in DUCSU, JUCSU, CUCSU, and RUCSU elections. “This advancement of Shibir in university and college student unions across the country must continue. Shibir will always stand beside general students in their academic and personal struggles. Alongside their studies, I hope Shibir activists will also prove their abilities in the upcoming elections. Through information technology, they must present Jamaat’s welfare-oriented and positive politics to the public and play an active role in the ballot revolution.”

Mentioning that a certain quarter is conspiring to stop Jamaat’s popular surge, Golam Porwar said, “Jamaat does not occupy ponds, grab lands, or illegally extract sand. When Jamaat comes to power, there will be no unemployment in the country. Technical education will be used to eliminate joblessness. If the state is governed according to the laws of the Creator, both Hindus and Muslims will live in peace and prosperity.”

Pointing out that in 54 years of independence, three partiesAwami League for 21 years, BNP for 15 years, and Jatiya Party for 9 yearshave ruled the country, Golam Porwar added, “They failed to change the fate of the people; they only changed their own fortunes. Jamaat-e-Islami has never been in power. This time, give Jamaat a chance and see the difference. I can assure youJamaat does not engage in bribery, extortion, or terrorism. There will be no corruption or plundering. Jamaat will ensure the well-being of the people, InshaAllah.”
