Kushtia district Jamaat organizes members’ Conference

The July Charter must be given legal legitimacy through a referendum, asserts Mobarak Hossain

Central Executive Committee Member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Regional coordinator of Jessore-Kushtia Mobarak Hossain said that to implement the July National Charter, necessary orders must be issued and a referendum should be organized by November. Once the July National Charter attains legal recognition through the referendum, a free, fair, and credible national election should be held in February in accordance with the Charter. Prior to that, equal opportunity and a level playing field must be ensured for all political parties.

He made these remarks while addressing as the Chief Guest at the Rukon (member) Conference of Kushtia District Jamaat-e-Islami held at 3 p.m. on Monday (October 20) at the Abdul Wahid Auditorium of Haji Shariatullah Orphanage in Kushtia town. The conference was presided over by Kushtia district Jamaat Ameer Professor Abul Hashem.

Mobarak Hossain further said that justice must be ensured for the oppression, persecution, mass killings, and corruption committed during the fallen autocratic regime. At the same time, the political activities of the fallen autocrat’s accomplices — the Jatiya Party and the 14-Party Alliance — should be banned.

Special guests at the conference included Jamaat-e-Islami’s Shura member and Jessore regional team member Principal Khandaker A.K.M. Ali Mohsin, Dr. Almgir Biswas, Kushtia District Nayeb-e-Ameer and Jamaat-nominated candidate for Kushtia-2 (Mirpur-Veramara) constituency Abdul Gafur, Jamaat-nominated candidate for Kushtia-3 (Sadar) constituency Hafiz Mufti Maulana Amir Hamza, Jamaat-nominated candidate for Kushtia-1 (Daulatpur) constituency Vice Principal Belal Uddin, and Jamaat-nominated candidate for Kushtia-4 (Khoksa-Kumarkhali) constituency Abzal Hossain, Central Majlis-e-Shura member Professor Farhad Hussain, Kushtia District Secretary Professor Sujauddin Jowarder, Assistant Secretaries Khairul Islam Robin and Mazharul Haque Momin, and Kushtia City Ameer Enamul Haque.
