On Monday, October 13, at 6:30 p.m., a grand event was organized at the United Nations office in Dhaka to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. The event, hosted at the invitation of the UN Resident Coordinator Ms. Gwyn Lewis, was attended by ambassadors, high commissioners, diplomats from various countries, political figures, retired military officers, senior government officials, and distinguished members of civil society.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was represented by it’s Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, and Jamaat Ameer's Advisor on Foreign Affairs Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.

On this occasion, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair handed over a message of felicitation from the Honorable Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, addressed to the esteemed UN Secretary-General Mr. António Guterres, to Ms. Gwyn Lewis.

At the event, best wishes were expressed for the continued longevity of the United Nations and its universal contribution to the welfare of humanity. Hope was also conveyed that the UN’s cooperation in strengthening democracy and democratic institutions in Bangladesh, as well as in advancing education, culture, and economic progress, would further accelerate in the coming days.
