On the evening of 12 October (Sunday), a splendid event was organized at the Grand Ballroom of the ‘Sheraton Dhaka’ hotel in Banani on the occasion of Spain’s National Day. The program was arranged at the invitation of His Excellency Gabriel Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru, the Ambassador of Spain. Ambassadors, high commissioners, diplomats, political figures, retired military officers, senior government officials, and distinguished members of civil society from various countries attended the event.

Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Mujibur Rahman, Central Executive Committee Member and Secretary of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda; and Jamaat Ameer's advisor on Foreign Affairs Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan participated in the event.

Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda handed over a congratulatory message on behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, addressed to the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, to His Excellency Gabriel Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru, the Ambassador of Spain.

On this occasion, prayers and best wishes were expressed for the long stability of the Spanish government and for the peace, prosperity, and progress of the government and people of Spain. It was also hoped that the bilateral trade and diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Spain would become even stronger and more meaningful in future.
