A meeting of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held at the party's central office with Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman in the chair. The meeting took place today, October 7 (Tuesday), at 7:00 p.m. in the central office. The Naeb-e-Ameers, Secretary General, Assistant Secretary Generals, and other members of the Central Executive Council attended the meeting.
The meeting held a detailed discussion on the current overall political situation of the country, the expectations of the people, and the emerging context centering the upcoming national parliamentary election.
In the meeting, the July National Charter was identified as a significant milestone in Bangladesh’s political history. In this context, a strong demand was made to hold a national referendum to grant the July National Charter legal recognition and to conduct the upcoming national parliamentary election in light of that Charter.
The meeting further stated that the people of the country aspire to a free, fair, and acceptable election. Therefore, we call for ensuring an environment where all political parties can enjoy equal opportunities and freely conduct their political activities.
To this end, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami made an earnest appeal to its members and supporters at all levels, as well as to the people of the country, to unite and strive to realize the previously declared five-point demand.
Finally, the meeting sought the cooperation and prayers of all citizens for the welfare of the country and the nation, for the establishment of truth and justice, and for transforming the future Bangladesh into a peaceful, just, and prosperous state.
