On Wednesday, October 5, at 9 a.m., His Excellency Mr. Reto Renggli, the Honorable Ambassador of Switzerland to Bangladesh, paid a courtesy visit and attended a breakfast meeting with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at his office in Bashundhara of the capital.

At the outset, the Ambassador inquired about the health condition of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and wished him a full recovery.

The meeting was held in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere. During the discussion, they exchanged views on the overall situation prevailing in Bangladesh, investment opportunities between Bangladesh and Switzerland, international relations, and other matters of mutual interest. Both sides expressed optimism that Switzerland’s strong support for Bangladesh would continue in the future and that investment from Switzerland to Bangladesh would further increase.

Head of Political, Economic and Communication Affairs at the Embassy of Switzerland Mr. Alberto Giovannetti, and Senior Political, Economic and Press Officer Mr. Khaled Chowdhury accompanied the Switzerland Ambassador.

Whereas on behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami, its Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair; Member of the Central Executive Committee Mobarak Hossain; and Jamaat Ameer’s advisor on Foreign Affairs Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan were present during the meeting.
