The “Polling Agent Trainers’ Workshop” program, organized by the Central Election Department of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has been held on October 2 (Thursday) morning at Al-Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar, Dhaka. At the very beginning of the event, a Darsul Qur’an (Qur’anic lesson) was presented by the party’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum.
The chief discussant of the event, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Media and Publicity Department Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, in his concluding speech said: “In order to ensure a free, fair, and acceptable election in February next, based on the July National Charter, and to establish the people’s right to vote, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has placed a 5-point demand before the nation. Jamaat-e-Islami wants to build Bangladesh as a justice-based and accountable democratic state. For this purpose, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has been carrying out programs since September 15 to realize the 5-point mass demand.”
He further said: “To achieve the 5-point demand, Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a second phase of a 3-day program. Already, our 5-point demand has gained wide acceptance among the people. The people of the country have been supporting these demands and are continuing their systematic movement in the streets. The current government should immediately accept the people’s 5-point demand and hold the 13th National Parliamentary Election in February based on the July National Charter. If the government ignores people’s legitimate demands and fails to quickly resolve the prevailing crises, then the people of the country will be compelled to become tougher in realizing their rightful demands. He made a fervent appeal to the people of the nation to participate massively in the 3-day program announced by Jamaat-e-Islami in the second phase and to realize these demands.”
At the workshop, guideline-based speeches on various issues were delivered by the Secretary of the Central Election Department, Principal Mohammad Izzat Ullah, and member Mobarak Hossain. The honorable delegates of the “Polling Agent Trainers’ Workshop” also presented their valuable speeches and shared various experiences at the event.
