Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar makes a courtesy call with Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

On 24 August (Sunday) at 2:00 p.m., Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar held a courtesy meeting with the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at his residence who is convalescing after a cardiac surgery. On behalf of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and his own behalf, he conveyed best wishes for the good health and well-being of the Jamaat Ameer. The visiting Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister also appreciated Jamaat Ameer’s life-long positive contribution in the fields of politics, education and social welfare and prayed for his quick recovery.

At that time, he was accompanied by the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Tariq Bajwa, Director General (South Asia & SAARC) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Mr. Ilyas Mehmood Nizami, Pakistan High Commissioner in Dhaka Mr. Imran Haider, Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Muhammad Wasif, and Political Counsellor Mr. Kamran Dangal.

On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, its Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity & Media Department Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, and Jamaat Ameer's Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan were present on the occasion.

Jamaat Ameer expressed his sincere gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan for the courtesy call.

The hour-long meeting was held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere. After the meeting, Jamaat's Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher gave a brief statement to the press.
