Former member of Parliament Begum Rokeya Ansar laid to eternal rest with respect and love

Former Member of Parliament and former Central Assistant Secretary of the Women’s Wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Begum Rokeya Ansar, was laid to eternal rest with respect and love at Banani Graveyard. On Friday (15 August), after the Janaza prayer at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque premises led by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, the late Begum Rokeya Ansar was buried at Banani Graveyard.

The Janaza was attended by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Advocate Moyazzam Hossain Helal, Khatib of Baitul Mukarram Mosque Mufti Abdul Malek, Central Working Committee member and Nayeb-e-Ameer of Dhaka City South Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, Central Working Committee member and Secretary of Dhaka City South Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, along with other central and city leaders.

Additionally, leaders from various levels of Jamaat-e-Islami and devout Muslims participated in the Janaza.
It is noted that Begum Rokeya Ansar passed away on Thursday (14 August) while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka. On her death, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, along with members of the Central Executive Council and Working Committee, expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to the bereaved family.

In their condolence message, the leaders stated: "Begum Rokeya Ansar, wife of the late Advocate Sheikh Ansar Ali, a distinguished Islamic scholar and key figure of the Islamic movement in Satkhira, and former Central Working Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, was a devoted personality in the Islamic movement. She served as the Central Assistant Secretary of the Women’s Wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and also played an important role as a Member of the National Parliament. Until her last breath, she remained engaged in the movement for the establishment of an Islamic state. May Allah accept all her righteous and noble deeds and receive her as a guest in Jannah. Ameen."
