On Sunday afternoon, August 3, BNP Joint Secretary Generals Habibun Nabi Khan Sohel and Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie visited Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at United Hospital in Dhaka on behalf of BNP's Acting Chairman Mr. Tarique Rahman. They conveyed greetings and well-wishes from Mr. Tarique Rahman to Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.

When inquired about the latest health condition of the Jamaat Ameer, leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami informed them that he is currently under intensive post-operative observation in the cardiac ICU. The attending doctors have imposed strict restrictions on in-person visits to prevent any risk of infection.

Jamaat-e-Islami representatives further stated that, Alhamdulillah, the Jamaat Ameer has regained consciousness and is in stable condition. He has also been given liquid food. Doctors have expressed hope that he may be able to return home within a week.

At the time, Jamaat's Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, and Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s younger brother, and Sylhet City Jamaat Ameer Mr. Fakhrul Islam, received the bouquet of flowers, which was taken by the BNP leaders on behalf of Mr. Tarique Rahman.
