A level playing field must be ensured for the upcoming election, asserts Maulana Abdul Halim

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and coordinator of the Rangpur-Dinajpur region Maulana Abdul Halim said that members (Rukns) must make the ultimate sacrifice for the religion and the country, including financial sacrifices. Even after facing countless oppressions and persecutions, it has not been possible to deviate Jamaat-e-Islami from its ideological stance. Just as Jamaat leaders and activists have played a vocal role against fallen autocracy, likewise, they will play leading roles to fulfil the desires of the students and masses of building a corruption-free, discrimination-free humane Bangladesh. To ensure a free, fair, and neutral election in the country, the interim government must ensure a level playing field. The July Charter and Declaration must be declared and implemented. If the Proportional Representation (PR) system is introduced, it will stop nomination trade, and a parliament will be formed based on the representation of all parties and qualified individuals, with every voter's vote being valued.

Maulana Abdul Halim further said that although there may be policy differences among anti-fascist parties and forces, they must refrain from any actions or statements that hinder the aspirations of the July mass uprising. Wishing for unity among Islamic forces and like-minded parties, Maulana Abdul Halim further said that through unity and understanding among anti-imperialist patriotic forces and religious scholars, fascism will be eliminated in the upcoming election, In Sha Allah.

He made the above remarks as the chief guest at six separate members (male and female) assemblies organized by the Dinajpur district branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on July 26 (Saturday), held throughout the day in Dinajpur city, Chirirbandar, and Birganj.
