On the occasion of the 249th Independence Day of the United States, Acting US Ambassador to Bangladesh Tracey Ann Jacobson organized a special event on July 2, Wednesday evening. The event, organized at the United Convention Center on Tongi Highway in the capital Dhaka, was attended by ambassadors of various countries, high commissioners, diplomats, political figures, retired military officers, high-ranking government officials and dignitaries from the civil society.
On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, party's Nayeb-e-Ameer and former member of parliament Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Secretary General and former Member of Parliament Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Assistant Secretary General and Head of party's Central Media and Publicity Department Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, Member of the Central Executive Council and Ameer of Dhaka City South Nurul Islam Bulbul, Member of the Central Executive Council and Ameer of Dhaka City North Mohammad Selim Uddin and Jamaat Ameer's Foreign Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan attended the event.
At the event, a message of greetings from Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman was handed over to the US Acting Ambassador by Nayeb-e-Ameer Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher.
The delegation expressed its hope that the existing bilateral cordial and diplomatic relations between the United States and Bangladesh will become stronger and more meaningful in the upcoming days.
