Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami announces program on the occasion of the first anniversary of the July-August mass uprising

On Saturday, June 28 at 12 noon, a 39-day program from July 1 to August 8 was announced at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in the presence of journalists on the occasion of the 'First Anniversary of the July-August Mass Uprising'. The organization's Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, announced the program. Jamaat's Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Media and Publicity Department, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, and Central Executive Council Member, and Secretary of the Central Media and Publicity Department Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda were present at the time.

The announced programs are as follows:

* July 1
Prayer program in all branch organisations across the country commemorating the martyrs, and also highlighting injured and disabled in the July-August mass uprising

* July 2-4
Food distribution among the poor, helpless, distressed and orphans

* July 8-15
Jamaat leaders will meet, exchange views with the families of martyrs and the injured and will attend prayer programs

* July 16
Discussion meeting and prayer program in memory of martyr Abu Sayeed (in Rangpur)

* July 19
a) National rally at Suhrawardy Udyan of the capital for the purpose of implementing the 7-point plan announced by Jamaat

b) Jamaat Ameer will participate in the program organized by the martyrs' families

* July 20-24
Seminar-Symposium will be organized focusing the July-august mass uprising and fulfilling the public expectations

* July 25-28
Documentary exhibition and cultural program on the July-August mass uprising

* July 29-30
Discussion meeting initiated by women and students

* August 1
National seminar (unveiling of the English and Arabic translations of the Martyr's Memorial book)

* August 1-3
Photo exhibition program initiated by students

* August 5
Countrywide mass procession and participation in state programs locally and nationally

* August 6-8
Discussion programs will be organized by journalists, teachers, doctors, lawyers, engineers and religious scholars.
