Without a level playing field, the election cannot be free, fair, neutral, or acceptable", asserts Maulana ATM Masum

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana ATM Masum has stated that the upcoming election is not just another election—it is an opportunity to reflect the people’s post-revolutionary aspirations. He emphasized that ensuring justice for fascists and implementing necessary reforms are essential steps toward holding a free, fair, impartial, and credible election.

Following the announcement of a tentative election date by the Chief Adviser, the country has already boarded the election train. Candidates have begun campaigning. However, incidents of attacks on candidates, vandalism of posters and banners are being reported from various areas. If the administration fails to remain neutral, it will be impossible to ensure a free and fair election. If local-level administrative authorities show weakness toward any particular party or group, the neutrality of the administration will come under question. The government must remain alert and cautious in this regard. It must remember that simply holding an election in any manner will not establish democracy or solve the underlying problems. What is needed is to make the election acceptable. Jamaat is willing to cooperate if such cooperation is sought.

He made these remarks as the chief guest while addressing a two-day educational camp held on 15 and 16 June for upazila-level leaders, organized by Narsingdi District Jamaat.

He further stated that Jamaat is working tirelessly to transform Bangladesh into a welfare state founded on justice and fairness to ensure the well-being of the people. Jamaat will play its desired role in bringing smiles to people’s faces, improving living standards, and restoring dignity. Through ongoing humanitarian and service-based activities, Jamaat has earned the trust of the people. A strong wave of public support has risen in favor of Jamaat across the country. The people are eagerly awaiting the establishment of an Islamic social order. In this context, Jamaat leaders must act as guardians to protect the country, its independence, and sovereignty.

The two-day educational camp was presided over by Narsingdi District Ameer Maulana Moslehuddin and conducted by District Secretary Maulana Amjad Hossain.
Special guests included Central Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, Central Working Committee Members A.F.M. Abdus Sattar, Dr. Khalilur Rahman Al Madani, Maulana Abdul Jabbar (Ameer of Narayanganj City Jamaat), and Maulana Delwar Hossain (Ameer of Dhaka District).

Special guest Maulana Abdul Halim said that for a long time, the call of Islam was suppressed in this Muslim-majority country. Islamic leaders were imprisoned, tortured, and persecuted in an attempt to uproot Islam from the country. But the fascists failed. In the days ahead, even if anyone attempts to become a fascist again, the people will not allow them to succeed.

Speaking as a special guest, Maulana Abdul Jabbar said that if the media plays a responsible role, the people will know the truth. In addition to exposing criminal activities, the media can also highlight political crimes. He called on media houses to present the real truth and allow the people to act responsibly.

Central Office Secretary Maulana Afham Abdus Sattar urged the leaders not to be worldly-oriented but to focus on the Hereafter. He encouraged prioritizing the eternal life of the Hereafter over the fleeting life of this world.

In his remarks, Dr. Khalilur Rahman Madani called on all levels of workers to remain steadfast in loyalty and move forward on the path of attaining Allah’s pleasure.

Maulana Md. Delwar Hossain, Ameer of Dhaka District, said that the stronger the organization becomes, the more public engagement it will have. A strong and expanded organization is crucial for a successful revolution.
