On the final day of the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025, held in Dhaka on April 10, a delegation from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, led by party’s central executive council member Mobarak Hossain, met with both foreign and local investors participating in the summit. The Jamaat delegation included Md. Anwarul Islam Raju, Vice President of the Industry and Commerce Wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami; Dr. Anwarul Azim, secretary of the wing and its member Md. Masud Kabir.
While exchanging views with the investors, the Jamaat delegation extended its commitment to good governance. They assured foreign investors of a business-friendly, corruption-free environment where they could operate without concern. Additionally, Jamaat delegation responded positively to the issues raised by the investors.
When asked about Jamaat-e-Islami’s stance on women’s empowerment in Bangladesh, the delegation stated that the party maintains a positive approach toward empowering women. They also emphasized their intention to deliver political stability along with good governance.
The Jamaat representatives further stated that during previous periods when Jamaat-e-Islami had ministerial responsibilities, there had been no allegations of corruption. They reaffirmed the party’s commitment to ensuring a tension-free environment for businesses and investors in Bangladesh.
Over the past two days, investors from various countries—including China, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the Netherlands—had met the representatives of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. In response, Jamaat assured them of full cooperation and support, stating that the investment summit would encourage foreign investment. They also believed the summit would boost local investor confidence and contribute to resolving the ongoing economic crisis.
The delegation also mentioned that, to create a conducive business environment, Jamaat-e-Islami would work to establish social justice and implement necessary reforms across all sectors. They pledged to ensure the safety of investors' capital and to make the "one-stop solution" service more effective. Investors were promised a corruption-free environment in all sectors, and that repatriation of profits would be made easier.
The delegation concluded by saying that, if entrusted with governing the country, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami would not only ensure a favorable environment for investment but also deliver good governance. They added that Bangladesh has excellent investment opportunities, along with natural resources, seaports, rivers, and port facilities which will be very helpful and advantageous for the investors.
