Tribute and respect paid in UK for those, who had been involved in the July Revolution

UK Expatriates Played a Leading Role in the July Revolution

In an effort to uphold the significance of the July-August 2024 Revolution and establish the dignity and rights of the martyrs and the wounded, a discussion event titled "Honoring the UK Expatriate Revolutionaries of July 36 and the Aspirations for Bangladesh" was organized by "Justice for July UK" on February 24 in a hall room in East London. The chief guest at the event was Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair.

During his speech, he stated that people from all walks of life in Bangladesh took part in the July Revolution. He emphasized that the fearless decisions of the students, by the grace of Almighty Allah, led to their victory. This revolution was not confined to a single group or political party—rather, Bangladeshis worldwide participated in it. Among them, expatriates from the UK played a pioneering role, making a unique and invaluable contribution. He highly praised the recognition event and suggested that in the future, larger programs should be organized to further honor and inspire the revolutionaries.

The event was presided over by Mohammad Amin Uddin, a former student leader of Chittagong University and the President of the Organization, while Abu Talha, a former student leader of MC College, Sylhet, and the Secretary of the Organization, hosted the event.

The event featured prominent guests and speakers, including renowned Islamic thinker and media personality Imam Ajmal Masroor, speaker of Tower Hamlets Council Barrister Saifuddin Khaled, community leader and human rights activist, Mahfuz Nahid, spokesperson of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Europe Barrister Abu Bakar Mollah, former Sylhet city Secretary Former Secretary of Sylhet Metropolitan Jamaat Sirajul Islam Shaheen, prominent journalist and community activist Abdul Munim Zahedi Kerala, candidate for Dhaka-1 parliamentary seat and former student leader of Kushtia Islamic University Barrister Nazrul Islam, former student leader of Chittagong University Barrister Badre Alam Didar, former student leader of Dhaka University and key organizer of "Bangladesh Solidarity Campaign" Abu Saleh Yahya and former student leader of Chittagong Islamic University and Khatib of Samuda Muslim Community Center Manzur Ahmed.

In addition, leaders of various honored human rights organizations also addressed the gathering. Among the other distinguished guests present at the event were, former President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, Sylhet City Shahriar Alam Shipar, former Rajshahi University Chhatrashibir president Shamsul Alam Golap, former President of Sylhet District West Juber Ahmad Ahadm international Diaspora Member of the National Citizen Committee Barrister Nurul Huda Juned and others.
A video documentary titled "July 36: The Wave of Revolution from the Homeland to the Global Stage" was screened at the event. The organizers announced that they would soon officially release the documentary on their official page and website.

During the screening, the chief guest, special guests, and all attendees watched the entire documentary with deep emotion. The documentary highlighted the fascist atrocities from October 28, 2006, to the August 5, 2025, revolution, as well as the organized resistance against them.

A paper document was distributed among the distinguished guests and all attendees, requesting their views on the future of Bangladesh based on five key points: Economy, politics, religious policy, healthcare sector and expatriate rights. All participants enthusiastically shared their personal opinions in writing.
