Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar said that after the student-people's revolution, many political leaders and activists, detained in false and fabricated cases have been released. However, Mr. ATM Azharul Islam, who was detained in false and fabricated cases during the fascist government, is still not being released. The countrymen are shocked and surprised by this incident. In order to ensure the release of ATM Azharul Islam, a public sit-in program has been announced in front of the office of the Chief Advisor from 2 to 4 pm on February 25. I am calling on the country people to participate in the sit-in program. At this time, he strongly demanded the return of the registration along with the symbol of Jamaat-e-Islami. He also said, we are not against the government, we are against oppression.
Professor Mia Golam Porwar further said that the tribunal in which top Jamaat leaders including Maulana Nizami, Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid, Abdul Quader Molla, Mir Quasem Ali were hanged in false, and fabricated cases; Sheikh Hasina, the mastermind of the atrocities, will be tried in that same tribunal. However, even though the tribunal during Sheikh Hasina's tenure had false cases and biased trials, Sheikh Hasina will be punished through a proper trial.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at the worker’s Conference-2025 held at the local Bejerdanga Akij Mahfil ground organized by the Fultala Union Jamaat-e-Islami in Khulna district on Friday (February 21) afternoon.

The Secretary General further said that in 53 years, the people of the country have seen the rule of many governments. Now all that remains to be seen is the rule of Jamaat-e-Islami. Stating that Jamaat wants to cooperate with the current interim government to build a new Bangladesh, he said, "There are many who want to come to power now by holding elections." But we have said that the places where there is garbage from the last fifteen years should first be cleaned and renovated and then elections should be held. The countrymen do not want to see any more elections like 2014, 2018 and 2024. In the last three elections, the Awami League, Chhatra League, Jubo League and Police League did not let the people vote. The people of this country do not want to see such elections again. The countrymen want a clean, transparent and acceptable election.
