Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, stated that the future of Bangladesh will be free of discrimination, based on justice and fairness, where people will have the right to express their opinions freely. Everyone will be able to enjoy their rightful privileges appropriately.
He further said that they had been unjustly banned, and their leaders and activists across the country had been subjected to inhumane torture for days, even martyred. In a Muslim-majority country, practicing religion freely had become difficult. Through the July uprising, achieved at the cost of the martyrs’ blood and the tears of the oppressed, the nation was freed from tyranny, ushering in a new Bangladesh. Now, everyone must work together to build this country. No division or fragmentation should be allowed to halt this progress. He urged people to be prepared for even greater sacrifices if necessary and to remain united against all forms of discrimination, injustice, and oppression.
He added that not everything is in our hands, but we must uphold the truth with all our abilities and strive for it. Emotions and conscience must be balanced. Controlled emotions are a source of strength.
