Jamaat Ameer at Cox's Bazar workers' conference

All murders, especially the massacres of 2024 must be tried, demands Jamaat Ameer

-Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, we do not believe in revenge. But we definitely want justice for misdeeds. Our words are clear. All murders must be tried. Especially the murderers of 24 massacre, must be tried immediately. If this trial is not done, the souls of the martyrs will be dishonored. We cannot dishonor those who have brought us freedom and given us the opportunity to speak with honor and dignity.

Today, Saturday, February 8, a huge workers' conference was held at Cox's Bazar Government College Ground. Dr. Shafiqur Rahman spoke in the program as the chief guest. District Jamaat Ameer Principal Maulana Noor Ahmed Anwari presided over the program which was hosted by Secretary Muhammad Zahidul Islam. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Assistant Secretary General and former MP AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan and Chittagong City Ameer former MP Alhaj Shahjahan Chowdhury delivered speeches as special guests. Hindu Religious Welfare Trust Trustee Dr. Parimal Kanti Shil also spoke in the program.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman called on people to support honest people in the upcoming elections and said that if Jamaat-e-Islami is elected by voting, the people will get good governance, justice and balanced development. He called for the victory of Jamaat-e-Islami candidates in all four constituencies of Cox's Bazar.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that many countries in the world have stood tall in a short time after gaining independence. We should have done the same. But the hopes of the people of Bangladesh have not been fulfilled. We have lost 11 responsible people in their trials. Some of us have been hanged. Some have been pushed to death in prison. A frightening situation was created in the prison of Professor Ghulam Azam so that people could not participate in his death funeral. Even then, none of our leaders even thought of fleeing the country or tried to. Rather, Mir Quasem Ali came from America. We protested against these killings. Those who protested were cut into pieces. Not only men but also women were killed in the same way.

He further said, the voice of our children was ‘We Want Justice’. We do not want discrimination. We want a society of equality full of justice. But those who created discrimination in society. They made society into a party against the other. They needed to suppress the movement by shooting with the police. But the world is witness, in a country where the youth are ready to give their lives, no tyrannical government has been able to suppress them in any way.

He said, we salute our proud children. We have been unable to overthrow the tyranny despite a movement for 15 and a half years. This is the truth. The final blow was dealt under their leadership and the nation has succeeded. The credit for this belongs to Allah, the Almighty. Some, however, claim themselves that I am the mastermind, such and such brother is the mastermind, such and such leader is the mastermind. The Jamaat Ameer also mentioned that the Jamaat has suffered the most because of seeking the law of Allah.

The Jamaat Ameer urged the vested quarters not to continue ill-deeds like extortion. Everyone will do politics in their own place with their own ideology. But extortion and corruption should not be exercised. Stating that no one will be allowed to harm anyone at the instigation of anyone, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, all the people of this country are our trust. Even if it is a criminal, we will hand him over to the law. But I also want to say that we don't want to see the judges do injustice in the name of the law. We don't want to see the people hand over the most violent criminals and looters to you and you release them the next day. We want to see those who destroyed this society; They should be kept in jail and the trial should be completed.

AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad said, the tide has started in favor of Jamaat-e-Islami across the country. Today's rally proves that Jamaat-e-Islami is an organization of the masses. Today, people have started to understand that we could not do what we did not see in the past 53 years; today, Jamaat-e-Islami is showing that dream through real actions.

Demanding justice for the fascist Awami League, he further said, if they are not tried, the students and the public will take to the streets again. Even then, they will be tried. He said, to establish justice in the country, it will not be enough to just change power. Good people will rule. On the one hand, good laws are needed for justice and honest leadership is needed to implement the law. He also commented that no law can be made in the state outside the Quran and Sunnah, and said that to ensure justice, we have to follow the model of Medina.

Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan said that although the country was liberated through the Liberation War, the people did not get the benefits of that independence. The rulers of the country have failed to rule the country with their heads held high. The Awami League has ruled the most and established fascism. Finally, the students have freed the country from fascism. He said that the country is moving forward after Hasina's escape is not tolerated. That is why Hasina has started conspiring again while sitting in Delhi.

Muhammad Shahjahan said that the entire country is united against the Awami League and fascism, and said that the countrymen want to see the trial of Sheikh Hasina, the mastermind of the BDR massacre and the Shapla Chattar massacre. If justice is done, the fascist Hasina will be hanged.

Alhaj Shahjahan Chowdhury said, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has been giving the same statement for 83 years; Only by establishing a just and non-discriminatory Islamic welfare state will humanity be liberated. He mentioned, no Islamic work was allowed in Bangladesh from 1972 to 1975.

Trustee of Hindu Religious Welfare Trust Dr. Parimal Kanti Shil said, when Hamidur Rahman Sahib was an MP, no one could say that he did not receive a grant. These Jamaat-e-Islami workers do not make any difference between Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists and Christians. He said, Islam is a religion of peace. We all have the same blood in our bodies.
