Over the past 15 and a half years, all murders in Bangladesh have been masterminded by fascist Sheikh Hasina. Extrajudicial killings of innocent people, rigging elections by casting votes overnight, filing false cases against innocent individuals, and all other anti-humanitarian activities have occurred under the instructions of the tyrant Sheikh Hasina.
These remarks were made by the Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and former Member of Parliament, Professor Mia Golam Porwar, while addressing a worker conference of the Bhola District Jamaat-e-Islami as the chief guest at the Bhola Government High School grounds on Saturday morning, January 25.
He further stated that all crimes against humanity must be brought to justice before the upcoming elections. We are indebted to those who gave their lives and endured injuries in July and August. Their sacrifices must be repaid. The Bangladesh we have today was the dream of those who were martyred. Therefore, all murders must be brought to justice. Jamaat leaders were executed through judicial farce. Those involved in these judicial murders must be brought under the purview of the law.
He said, "The language spoken by fascists is now being used by some individuals today. Their words reek of fascism. Speaking the language of fallen fascists must stop. The people of Bangladesh will never accept fascism. We want to proceed based on consensus. To achieve this, the people of this country must build national unity in the spirit of August 5."
He added, "We want democratic elections conducted fairly and correctly. We aim to establish the government of Bangladesh through lawful means. We do not support undemocratic methods like fascism. However, to ensure free and fair elections, the damaged institutions of the state, particularly the 6-7 departments related to elections, must be reformed. Without these reforms, elections can never be impartial. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami believes that the necessary electoral reforms can be completed within the next six months. After that, a roadmap for elections should be announced without delay."
Mia Golam Parwar criticized former MPs and ministers of Bhola, saying they should feel ashamed. The demands of Bhola's people, which date back 20 years, have not yet been fulfilled. He emphasized that Bhola’s 2 million people demand the use of Bhola’s gas for household needs and the construction of the Bhola-Barishal bridge. Additionally, Bhola's beautiful island, Monpura, should be connected to the national electricity grid. Bhola's students often have to go to Barishal or Dhaka for education, which is a great hardship for their hard-working parents. Therefore, establishing a medical college and a public university in Bhola is necessary. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami agrees with these demands and, if it comes to power, will prioritize fulfilling them, Insha’Allah.
