Trial of the genocide first, then the question of Awami League's participation in the elections, says Jamaat Ameer

Come back and prove yourself a patriot, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman to Sheikh Hasina

The trial of the genocide to be held in July-August, then the question of Awami League's participation in the elections, saying this Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman further said, Awami League is not a political party, they are a sundicate or murderers.

He said these things while addressing Barisal City and District Jamaat workers' conference as the chief guest at Hemayet Uddin Eidgah Maidan in Barisal on Tuesday afternoon, January 21.

Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman also said, we want those involved in the genocide to be tried, and their party to be tried as well. Addressing Sheikh Hasina, he said, you claim to be patriots; so if you are patriots, do come and face the trial. You have hanged our leaders in false cases. You have openly committed genocide.

Stating that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was the most persecuted party by the Awami League, he said, they were banned four days after Jamaat-e-Islami had been banned.

The party chief said, since independence, the country has been intentionally divided. Many people have given their lives in the field of war. But the incident of sacrifice of Abu Sayeed is rare. Abu Sayeed is a great hero of freedom. We have to continue the fight for which the martyrs gave their lives in last July-August. Thousands of people are living with disabilities; they are now living martyrs.

He said, Bhola gas should go all over the country; but let it come to Barisal first. Another bridge should be constructed from Barisal to Bhola. I want to see the entire Barisal division including Bhola much developed. If Allah gives us a chance, we will try to fulfill all the demands of the people of Barisal. And if we are in the opposition seat, we will raise your demands.

Barisal city Jamaat Ameer Principal Zahir Uddin Muhammad Babar presided over the conference. Jamaat Ameer also said that a conspiracy was hatched to prevent the conference from being held at the Eidgaon ground. He thanked those who helped make the event successful despite all obstacles. He demanded that all the projects and programs that had been canceled in the past to be launched again.

Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan said that the previous fascist government had hanged Jamaat leaders with the aim of eradicating Islam. Even then, the Jamaat leaders did not escape.

He said that the fascists are still plotting. No more fascism will be allowed to rise in this country. Action must be taken against the supporters of fascism in the administration and government offices. The voter list must be prepared correctly.

Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim said, not division, but unity must be maintained. We must create a grave for fascism by creating public opinion. The next election must be held in a fair manner. All parties in the country, except those who have fled, have agreed on this issue.

Jamaat Assistant Secretary Advocate Muazzam Hossain Helal said that the fascists have fled. We must move forward under the leadership of Dr. Shafiqur Rahman to build a new Bangladesh.

Jamaat-e-Islami's central working committee member Manjurul Islam Bhuiyan called for forgetting all differences and starting the politics of unity.

Dhaka city South Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud said that a new Islamic movement will start from Barisal and spread to 56,000 square miles of the country. This new Bangladesh is the Bangladesh of the Islamic movement.

He said that those who practice the politics of sacrifice do not have to leave the country. And those who practice the politics of enjoyment are usually compelled to leave the country.

In his welcome speech, Jamaat-e-Islami's Central Majlis-e-Shura member and Barisal District Ameer Professor Mohammad Abdul Jabbar said, the ousted government thought that the Islamic movement could be suppressed by killing, imprisoning, murdering, hanging and setting up heinous prison cell like Aaina Ghor. Despite doing so much, it was not possible. They forgot that this land belongs to Allah. Those who have oppressed and tortured for 17 years have fled. The people of this country want assurances so that no more fascist forces can come to power in the country.

Zakir Hossain, father of Faisal Ahmed Shanta, who was martyred in the anti-discrimination movement, said, "The desire for which our children were martyred must be fulfilled." He called for completing their unfinished tasks.

Asim Kumar Halder spoke on behalf of the people of Hindu community. He said, "The Hindu community of this country does not want much, they only want peace. There has been no attack on Hindus in my area since August 5. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has been looking for us. I have not found anyone else." We want peace, we will not sell our heads to anyone.

Among others, Jamaat's Ulama Division Secretary Maulana Khalilur Rahman Madani, Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka District Ameer Maulana Delwar Hossain, Barguna District Ameer Maulana Mohibbullah Harun, Patuakhali District Ameer Advocate Nazmul Ahsan, Bhola District Ameer Master Zakir Hossain, Jhalakathi District Ameer Advocate Habibur Rahman, Pirojpur District Ameer Principal Tofazzal Hossain Farid, Barisal city Chhatrashibir former president Kamrul Ahsan Hasan, Barisal Regional coordinator of the Workers Welfare Federation Kabir Ahmed, Chhatrashibir's Barisal city President Riazul Islam, District President Akbar Hossain, and business leader Sagir Bin Sayeed addressed the program.
