Senior lawyer of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, former Attorney General and respected advisor to the interim government, Mr. AFM Hasan Arif, passed away at a hospital in Dhaka on Friday, December 20 at 3:10 pm (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). Upon receiving the news of his demise, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman went to Lab Aid Hospital in the capital to pay his last respects. Among others, Central Executive Council Member Mubarak Hossain was present on the occasion.

At that time, Jamaat Ameer said, I respected late Hasan Arif a lot. He used to perform his duties with great transparency in his professional life and he was a lawyer of high caliber. As an advisor, I found him to be a true patriot.

He also said, his life in this world has ended and his eternal journey has begun. May Allah have mercy on him on this journey. May Allah makes every destination easy for him. May Allah forgive him and accept him as a guest of Paradise. Ameen.
