Sathkhira District Jamaat's Workers' Conference Held

"We will give my life, but will not give even an inch of the country's land to anyone"

-Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafqur Rahman called for a steadfast unity above all else in the interest of the national cause. He said, "Dark clouds are gathering in the sky of the country. We see black vultures (evil forces) in the sky. We will not give them any opportunity," he added.

He further said, "We will give my life, but I will not give even an inch of the country's land to anyone. He made these remarks as the chief guest at the workers' conference organized by the Sathkhira District Jamaat on Saturday, November 30. The event took place at the Government Boys' High School ground in the district headquarters. The conference was presided over by District Ameer and District’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Shahidul Islam Mukul, and it was hosted by District Secretary Maulana Azizur Rahman.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "Speaking of the Quran, speaking of Allah's religion, speaking of the truth, no other district in Bangladesh has given as much life and blood as Sathkhira. Therefore, the status of Sathkhira is of unique significance to Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami." He prayed, "May Allah continue to raise the prestige of this district.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "In speaking about the Qur'an, speaking about Allah’s religion, speaking the truth, no other district in Bangladesh has offered as much life and blood as Sathkhira District. For this reason, Sathkhira holds a unique status in the eyes of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. May Allah continue to raise the prestige of this district."

He further said, "Our beloved homeland Bangladesh is a great mercy from Allah. There are very few places in the world with such a country. We have been blessed with a country whose land holds boundless resources. The earth's core contains infinite wealth, and the seas too are filled with untold resources. However, our resources are not benefiting the people. Those who have ruled the country, who have come to power as the rulers, have skillfully stolen and plundered the people’s wealth and pocketed it. As a result, the people of Bangladesh have not received their rightful share."

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman made a pledge, saying, "Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is committed to the people of this country. We want to build a corruption-free Bangladesh. We want to bring balanced development. Whether someone wants it or not, they will receive their rights. Millions of young people will not remain unemployed. As soon as education is completed, employment will be provided. There will be a blend of both moral and worldly education."

He said, "Our Bangladesh is a wonderful country of communal harmony. We must remain alert about these evil forces. We will not allow harmony to be disrupted. We want to build such a Bangladesh where every person’s work is valued. We want to build a Bangladesh where everyone will have a job. We aim to provide work to the youth. Have the elderly become dissatisfied? I believe not. A son's success will automatically become the father's pride."

He further said, "The independence of 1971 did not come easily. On October 28, 2006, in broad daylight, our children were murdered with logs and sticks, and the killers were jumping around in front of us. That day, Bangladesh lost its way. After a long journey, Bangladesh has returned to its rightful path in 2024. In between, much blood was shed. 57 brave army officers were killed. Then, leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami were murdered. Top leaders were killed through a controversial judicial process.

In your neighboring district of Jhinaidah, there was a killing spree. Up until 2024, there were rivers of blood from these killings. In response, students and the public took to the streets. They stood firm, declaring that they would not accept the mockery of the nation and intellect in the name of quotas. In this movement, the students had no firearms in their hands.

He said, "On my way here, I saw crowds of people along the roads. I love Bangladesh with all my heart. Even when subjected to oppression, I did not flee the country. Those who truly love their country cannot escape. We want to live here, we want to fight, and we want to transform this country into one of the greatest in the world."

In the special guest speech, Central Executive Council member Principal Muhammad Izzat Ullah said, "To make a successful revolution for a just society, there is no alternative to establishing honest leadership. We must gather honest people at all levels of leadership. Otherwise, we will be deceived. In 1947 and in 1971, we could not achieve true independence. Let us now establish the leadership of capable people in all four constituencies of Sathkhira and everywhere else to achieve the desired society."

Central Organizational Secretary and Khulna Region Director Muhaddis Abdul Khalek said, "The Awami League government tried to scare us with the fear of death. But Maulana Nizami proved that we are not afraid of death. They have essentially stepped on the tiger's tail."

Former Ameer of Sathkhira District and Khulna Region team member Muhaddis Rabiul Bashar said, "The tyrant government has carried out judicial killings. They have harassed us with false cases. Even though leaders have changed repeatedly, the policies have not changed. He also mentioned that independence is still yet to be fully achieved."

Former MP and District Working Committee member Gazi Nazirul Islam said, "The Awami League thought they would expel Jamaat-Shibir from this country. But they themselves have been expelled."

Among others, Central Working Committee member Dr. Khalilur Rahman Madani, District Naib Amir Nurul Huda, Dr. Mahmudur Hossain, Khulna Region team member Master Shafiqul Alam, Principal Maulana Mashur Rahman, Khulna City Amir Professor Mafuzur Rahman, and Bagerhat District Ameer Maulana Rezaul Karim addressed the program.
