Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "If someone wants to create anarchy and chaos in Bangladesh, the countrymen, particularly the students will resist them. Forgetting the past, we all want to build a prosperous Bangladesh together. It is extremely unfair to divide the nation as majority or minority. Every by birth citizen has equal rights regardless of caste, creed and faith.”
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said this while addressing the prayer and discussion held in Dinajpur commemorating the martyrs of student movement on 2nd September, Monday. Dinajpur North organizational district arranged the event. District Ameer Principal Anisur Rahman presided over the program.
Jamat Ameer initiated his Dinajpur trip by visiting the residence of Rudra Sen, a student of Sylhet Shahjalal University of Science and Technology who sacrificed his life in the recent movement. Jamaat Ameer talked to the victim family. After that, he went to the house of Salim Uddin, who was shot dead in Dhaka on 5th August and talked to his family members as well.
It should be noted that each martyr's family was given financial assistance of 2 lakh taka. Then Jamaat Ameer exchanged views with the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and other officials at Dinajpur Circuit House.

Rezaul Islam, Dinajpur city unit President Md. Rezwanul Haque, Dinajpur North District Working Council Member of Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana Khoda Bakhs, Mainul Alam, Mahbubur Rahman Bhuttu, District Naib Ameer AKM Afzalul Anam, and prominent personnel were present at that time.
Principal of Rajbari ISKCON temple and relatives of the martyr's family were also present in the gathering.
