Jamaat Ameer stands by the side of the flood victims in several districts

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman calls the people from all walks of life to come forward to help the flood victims

Due to continuous heavy rains and flash floods from Indian upstream, severe floods have occurred in 12 districts of the eastern part of the country including Feni, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Cumilla, Chittagong, Khagrachari, Moulvibazar and Habiganj. As India opened the Dumbur Dam of Indian state of Tripura, flooding has taken a dire form in these areas. The Indian government has created the situation to drown the people of Bangladesh by opening this dam.

All the houses, roads, educational institutions in these areas have been submerged in flood water. Half a million people are trapped in flood water. Fish enclosures, field crops, rice mills, orchards were submerged in water. Numerous cattle, poultry were swept away in the flood. In some areas, the flood water has touched the roofs of people's houses. Millions of people are living an inhumane life in such conditions.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Thursday, 22nd August rushed to various flood affected areas of Feni, Noakhali and Laxmipur districts and distributed relief to the displaced people. At this time, Jamaat Ameer spoke to the poor and destitute people and inquired about their helpless situation. He visited various shelters and provided food packets and financial support to the people taking shelter. At this time, Ameer called upon the people of all classes and professions of the society to come forward to help the flood victims and at the end of the speech, he prayed to Allah Almighty to protect them from all kinds of calamities.

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana ATM Masum, Feni District Ameer AKM Shamsuddin, District Secretary Mufti Abdul Hannan and all the leaders and activists of the district and different upazilas were present at the relief distribution event in Feni district.

Whereas, Assistant Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum, Central leader Deen Mohammad, District Jamaat Ameer Ruhul Amin Bhaiya, Nayeb-e-Ameer AR Hafiz Ullah, District Secretary Farooq Hossain Noornabi, Assistant Secretary Advocate Nashir Uddin Mahmud and Mohsin Kabir Murad were present in the relief distribution ceremony in Laxmipur.

Noakhali District Ameer, Ishaq Khandkar presided over another relief distribution program in Senbag, Begamganj and Choumohoni area where relief items were distributed among about 5,000 flood victims. Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana ATM Masum, Central Working Council Member and Cumilla city Ameer Kazi Deen Mohammad were present as special guests in this relief distribution event.
